BCA Champions League - Stingers

The BCA Champions League is starting up again on January 6th at Stingers/Sweet Tooth. Get your team of 5 or more players together now and get qualified for the State and National BCA Tournaments.

Wednesday's
- Teams of 5
- Race to 13 games (Handicapped)
- Play on 2 - 7' Diamond Pro Am Tables each night
- Stingers (Formally Sweet Tooth Billiards 43rd Ave / Peoria)
- Top team, get entry to Vegas paid for in May 2010
- $7/week/player in dues
- Middle and End of the Season Tournaments and Banquet
- Prizes both Team and Individual
- 100% payback to the players
- All teams receive money, even last place
- Team Drinks, Shirts, etc.

Stinger's Bar is taking over the Sweet Tooth location and the 10 Pro Cut Diamond Barboxes. Diamond is coming to town to get all the tables playing perfect next week. With the move of Stingers into that location they also bring along a much needed LIQUOR LICENSE (Just approved). That's right, you'll be able to drink while you play league!

For those of you that are not familiar with the Handicapped League here is how it works. Each team of 5 players races to 13 games against your opponent each week. Just like at State and Nationals. Handicaps are used to granting lower rated teams "Games on the Wire" in the race based on the teams total team AZ Rating Handicap.

(e.g. Team A has players ranked 6, 6, 7, 7, 6 = 32. Team B has players ranked 8, 8, 9, 8, 8 = 41. 41-32 = 9, Team A gets 1 game on the wire for every 3 difference in handicap, in this case they receive a 3 game head start in a race to 13.)

We play on 2 tables every single night guaranteed, therefore league is over in under 2 hours each night.

Stingers will also have over 20 beers on tap and have food and drink specials all the time. The kitchen of Sweet Tooth Billiards is remaining with an addition of a Hood/Grill being added. Sweet Tooth is moving next door (Adjoining Wall) for all your poker needs including the 9' Diamonds.

Come play on the same equipment that 5 of the 6 Current State BCA Champions play on every week.

Stingers will also be holding BCA Warm-up Tournaments for Singles, Teams and Scotch Doubles in March and April.

btw, Stingers Bar will be opened through Construction and will be open from 6 a.m. - 2 a.m. every day.

It looks like the room might not be ready in time for us to begin on Dec. 9th. The tables were just moved this past weekend, but the lights have not yet. The build out of the bar is starting tomorrow as well, so it might be kinda hard to get going right away.

Also, I was thinking of getting 2 weeks of play in before the end of the year, but maybe the smart move is to just start up in January when everything is ready. That leaves about 19 weeks until Vegas, with 1 week off for the State Tourney.

New Start Date: January 6th, 2010.

We are going to run some tournaments on December 9th and 16th for anyone that wants to play and check out both rooms.

The next installment of the BCA Champions League is set to start up right after the holidays.

January 6th, 2010 will be the first night at Stinger's Bar (Formerly Sweet Tooth Billiards).

The liquor license has been approved, the build out is going on as we speak.

10 Diamond Barbox Tables in a new player friendly layout.

60 seat bar going in this week. 20+ beers on tap.

We have 7 - 8 teams already signed up and room for a couple more. 10 teams is the maximum. If you are thinking about joining the league as a single player or fielding a team yourself, please let me know ASAP. We have numerous players that are looking to join a team. I know 2 teams that are looking for 1 player each, one of which is an all girls team.

The format is 5 on 5 with a race to 13 games every week! 16 week season and you will be qualified for both State and Nationals with 8+ weeks of play in the BCA.

We are finalizing some last minute teams for the BCA Champions League as we are starting next week, January 6th.

Stingers Opened it's doors on Monday, Dec. 28th and the room looks awesome! Many great changes have transpired from when it was Sweet Tooth Billiards.

The 2nd Session of the BCA Champions League just completed their 2nd League Night.

Over 40+ players have already played and we still have room for 1 additional team (Because we have an odd number right now).

The Current Standings have been updated with Last Nights Results! They can be viewed off the Home Page of AZPoolScene.com under the BCA Champions League Tab.

We tentatively have an 8th team joining the league this next week. If they do indeed join, we will have to have a couple double headers or make ups for the 3 teams that already received a BYE. I will inform the team scheduled for a BYE next week once I know for sure if they are in or not.
